Camp Experts

David Geatz - Penn Quakers

Having completed his 6th year as the head coach of the Penn men’s tennis program, David Geatz has proven that his coaching methods work as he led the Quakers to a three-win improvement in the Ivy League back in 2016.

He was also the coach that led the Cornell University men and women tennis program to their first ever Ivy League title back in 2010. He has been recognized thrice as a Big Ten Coach of the year, as well as a Regional Coach of the Year.

Geatz graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in University Studies. He also holds a Masters and Ph.D in Sports Administration.

Traci Green - Harvard Crimson

The first African-American Harvard coach to win an Ivy League competition, Traci Green is now on her 12th season as head coach of the Harvard Crimson women’s tennis team. She is also the coach with the second most number of wins (a total of 123) in Harvard history.

In addition to her coaching, she is also a member of the USTA Collegiate Varsity National Committee, which supports college athletes with the desire, talent and work ethic of a future professional tennis player.

Her success as a coach follows a successful career in her studies as well where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree and earned a master’s degree in sports administration from Temple University.

Christian Appleman - Yale Bulldogs

Currently, in his 14th year of coaching the Yale Bulldogs Men’s Tennis Team, Christian Appleman is also Yale’s Director of Tennis Operations and Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities. He also served as the men and women’s assistant tennis coach at Penn State prior to that and was also the Head Teaching Professional and Director of Tennis Operations at the school’s tennis centre.

Christian graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science.

UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) is the new rating system universally used and preferred by college coaches in the U.S It provides all tennis players in the world (from beginners to professionals) a variable rating that will depend on player participation and performance in UTR-sanctioned tournaments, like the tournament embedded to all of DreamBig Events’ exposure camps.
